Trusting Jesus

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Let Jesus Carry Your Burdens

Letting Jesus take upon Himself our yoke is not about the yoke of an egg, but is about the yoke placed upon horses or oxen as they pull the massive weight of the load behind them or pull the plow as it digs furrows through the soil. It is also like the yoke of an airplane, as in the controls in the cockpit. Either example is about control, taking over and making our lives so much easier, it is about trusting Jesus as we turn our lives over to Him.
