Do You Really Believe That God Loves You?

Rich Mullins “There are many things in the Christian faith that are hard to get a handle on. And one of the things that I struggle the hardest with is believing that God really loves me. It’s too good to believe, but it’s true. Whether I can believe it or not. The fact is, I mean if you took the whole Bible and you shook it around and melted it down and said what is the essence of what this whole thing is saying, I think that it would just be that God loves you very much, that God in fact is crazy about you….To the degree that you can believe it, it changes things”.

“for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God”.

~~~John16:27 (ESV)~~~
“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.
~~~Romans 5:8 (ESV)~~~

“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him”.

~~~1 John 4:16 (ESV)~~~
“Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever”.
~~~Psalm 136:26 (ESV)~~~

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”.

~~~John 3:16 (ESV)~~~
Praising His Everlasting Love
“But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.
Saved by His Grace Through Our Faith
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
The Lord Knows My Heart
Psalm 139 (ESV)
O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, ‘Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,’
even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.
Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God!
O men of blood, depart from me!
They speak against you with malicious intent;
 your enemies take your name in vain.
Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?
I hate them with complete hatred;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!”
Do You Know Jesus or Do You Fear Death?
Billy Graham “But you know the fear of death is gone when a person,…when I found Christ as my Lord and my Savior, the fear of death was taken away. And now I’m just as certain that when I die that I’m going into another world that’s just as real as this one. That it’s helped me to face life here and now….Well I envision Heaven. And I’m not going there because I’ve preached to a lot of people. I’m not going there because I’ve read the Bible. I’m not going there because I’m good. I’m going there because of what Christ did for me on the cross. I’m saved by the grace of God. Now the word grace carries with it the idea that I don’t deserve it. I can’t buy my way, I can’t work my way. I’m a sinner”.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Happy Mother’s Day to My Mother, My Mommy!
Well, this month will be two years now since Mother went home to be with the Lord. And no, time doesn’t change the longing in our hearts. Dad is still just as much in love with Mother as he was all those sixty-plus years together. Maybe the tears aren’t as constant due to the mourning and grieving over her passing. Still, the love and adoration remain just as strong, just as real.
What is also so very special when remembering one of the most important people in my life, is just how amazing she was, how beautiful, how kind and always how loving. While Mother went through lots of health issues, very trying ones for sure, she remained devoted to Dad, us children, and the grand and great grandchildren. She knew what was important and that nothing was more important. She loved being our mother and we loved her being our mommy,… still.
“When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says.”
Caught Up Together With Jesus
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
You Know What Real Wisdom Is…
It’s when you drop all the pretenses, when you get alone with yourself and stop being full of yourself. It’s when you look up into the Heavens and simply say “God, I need you!” It’s when you finally wrap up your self-righteous, prideful, puffed up and arrogant as we-all-can-be-about-me self, chucking it all and turning to God and saying “Lord, FORGIVE ME, for I am a sinner”.
“…but I give myself to prayer” Psalm 109:4 (ESV).
